There are times when
all you want to do is let it out
all you want to do is let the pain
just drip away
down your arms
down your thighs
down to where the pain is no longer hard to bear
to where you can believe that life isn't worth dying for
that love isn't important
that the feeling can just wash away
like a pebble in a river
a grain of sand in an ocean
washed away from all it knows
to a place of solitude
of darkness and a place where
the lies told so long ago
won't sting the way they usually do
leaving scars and screaming pain
ravaging through your system until
you realize that all you want to do is
cry.
When all the tears have left your eyes
have cleansed your cheeks
have lost the lies
will you still feel the way you do?
will you resist the urge to scream?
let go of the old and adapt to the new?
can you enter the silent space above us
full of dark and uknown things
will you forget trust?
grab hold my hand
let me pull you forth
let me collect that grain of sand
then will you be happy
enough to forget the sadness
of the rolling sea
of the lies
can your tears
break all the ties?
or will you be found
huddling in the corner
muttering the profound
shivering about the past
crying over the future
asking all the questions that can be asked?
All this realization
in a time when
the only lights come
from a reflection in the sky
and from compacted gas
so many miles away
when you feel so small
and can't think the way you do
when the sun prevents all logics
when all you want to do is close your eyes
forget the lies
live with the despise
when all you want to do is
cry.

Flows well, has a decent length (some poems are just too short these days
Nice consistancy with ending each stanza the same too =]
I like it, and can relate to it
Awsome poetry!

first, good word usage, sufficiently high level reading to engage thought processes, yet casual enough to make a good read, and two, its just such a lovely flow of thought, so true so real.
nice work.

oh a warning to all now: no that is not me in the picture. But I absolutely love it.
I wish I could find out whose it really is. It didn't give any and I got it off google (yeah that's sad). But it was just so pretty I thought, "Perfect!"
So there, nobody can get pissed.
